Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Salon Equipment Fitter to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, manual role involving the installation, maintenance, and repair of a diverse range of salon equipment across various client locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Travel within a designated region, primarily covering Oxfordshire and surrounding areas, will be a regular part of this role, requiring a valid driving license and a flexible approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Install new salon equipment, including styling chairs, backwashes, spa beds, and various electrical appliances, ensuring correct functionality and safety standards.
- Perform routine maintenance checks and preventative servicing on client equipment to extend product lifespan and ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues with salon equipment, performing timely and effective repairs.
- Provide clear explanations and demonstrations to clients on equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
- Manage a schedule of service calls and installations efficiently, often travelling between multiple sites daily.
- Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, and service history.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a manual fitting, installation, or maintenance role.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with various tools and equipment.
- Basic electrical and plumbing knowledge (e.g., connecting water lines, basic wiring).
- Excellent problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving license with a clean record.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience specifically with salon or spa equipment.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a relevant trade (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry).
- Experience in a field service role with direct customer interaction.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertinent to equipment installation.
