Job Description

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled and highly motivated Stratigraphy Analyst with a strong focus on the energy sector to join our dynamic geological team in Tampa, Florida. The successful candidate will play a critical role in unlocking the subsurface secrets that drive our exploration and production success. This position involves advanced stratigraphic analysis, detailed geological modeling, and high-impact interpretations essential for reservoir characterization and resource assessment. You will work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions to complex geological challenges, directly contributing to high-value energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced stratigraphic interpretations of seismic and well data to build comprehensive geological models.
  • Integrate various geological, geophysical, and petrophysical datasets to refine reservoir characterization.
  • Develop detailed sequence stratigraphic frameworks and depositional models to predict reservoir quality and distribution.
  • Utilize industry-leading software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite) for data visualization, analysis, and modeling.
  • Conduct quantitative analysis of stratigraphic architectures and identify potential hydrocarbon traps and plays.
  • Prepare detailed geological reports, presentations, and maps to communicate findings to technical and management teams.
  • Collaborate with geophysicists, petrophysicists, reservoir engineers, and drilling engineers on integrated subsurface studies.
  • Participate in field studies and core workshops to enhance understanding of depositional environments.
  • Mentor junior geoscientists and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in sequence stratigraphy, seismic stratigraphy, and depositional systems.
  • Proficiency in geological and geophysical interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
  • Strong understanding of clastic and carbonate depositional environments and their impact on reservoir quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and integrate diverse geological and geophysical datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting and presentations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in English (US English).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Geology, Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related field.
  • Experience with advanced geostatistical methods and reservoir modeling techniques.
  • Familiarity with programming languages for data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
  • Track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals or presentations at industry conferences.
  • Project management experience in subsurface characterization studies.
