Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance Tester for our beloved The Sims franchise. This is a fully remote position offering flexible hours, allowing you to contribute from the comfort of your home. You will be instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of gameplay, features, and overall user experience for The Sims. Your keen eye for detail and passion for gaming will directly impact the millions of players who immerse themselves in our virtual worlds. This role involves comprehensive testing, bug reporting, and collaborating with development teams to deliver exceptional game content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for new game features, content, and updates related to The Sims.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies using internal bug tracking systems.
  • Perform regression testing, compatibility testing, and usability testing across various game platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, developers, and product managers to understand feature requirements and provide feedback.
  • Contribute to the improvement of QA processes and methodologies.
  • Provide regular updates on testing progress and defect status.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of The Sims gameplay mechanics, features, and player expectations.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups and team meetings virtually.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Quality Assurance, preferably within the gaming industry.
  • Proven experience with various testing methodologies (e.g., functional, regression, integration).
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely document bugs and steps to reproduce them.
  • Proficiency with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira, Bugzilla).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote, self-directed environment.
  • Passion for video games, especially The Sims franchise.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with test automation tools or scripting languages.
  • Familiarity with game development pipelines and tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working on simulation or sandbox games.
