Job Description

Join the dedicated team at UPS as a Building Maintenance Technician with a specialized focus on Electrical and HVAC systems. This is a stable, full-time on-site position based in our New Port Richey, FL facility, crucial for ensuring the continuous and safe operation of our logistical hub. You will be responsible for performing a variety of skilled maintenance duties, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs on electrical infrastructure, HVAC systems, and other building components. We are looking for a proactive individual with a strong commitment to safety and operational excellence who can contribute to maintaining a reliable and efficient working environment for our thousands of employees and critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control panels.
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including air conditioners, heaters, ventilation systems, and related components.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and develop schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility emergencies, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and local building codes.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to facility systems and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Assist with general building maintenance tasks and repairs as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in electrical system maintenance and repair (e.g., wiring, circuits, power distribution).
  • Demonstrated expertise in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting (e.g., refrigeration, controls, air handlers).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations pertaining to electrical and mechanical work.
  • Proficiency with various hand and power tools relevant to the trade.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or vocational certification in HVAC, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
  • Experience working in a large industrial or logistics facility.
  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS).
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
