Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and experienced Linehaul Drivers to join our dynamic team in Katy, TX, for night shift operations. As a UPS Linehaul Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of freight between various UPS facilities, ensuring on-time delivery and adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This role offers stable work, competitive compensation, and a night shift differential to reward your commitment to our critical overnight operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination (double/triple trailers where applicable) over long distances, primarily during night hours.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and DOT regulations, including hours of service (HOS).
- Transport freight between UPS hubs and distribution centers in a timely and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD) and complete all necessary paperwork.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations staff, and other team members.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading procedures are followed, contributing to cargo security.
- Represent UPS professionally at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with doubles/triples endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience.
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) for the past 3 years.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Availability to work consistent night shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous linehaul or long-haul driving experience.
- Experience with various types of freight and equipment.
- Strong understanding of DOT safety regulations and compliance.
- X endorsement (tanker/hazmat) is a plus.
