Job Description
Join UPS as a Part-time Package Handler and become a vital part of our world-class logistics team. In this physically demanding yet rewarding role, you will be responsible for loading, unloading, sorting, and scanning packages within our fast-paced facility. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team to ensure packages reach their destinations on time. Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload packages from company vehicles, trailers, and conveyor belts.
- Sort and scan packages efficiently, ensuring proper placement for delivery routes.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and use of safety equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent accidents and promote efficiency.
- Operate manual pallet jacks and other equipment as required (training provided).
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals and deadlines.
- Verify package information against manifests and ensure accuracy.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs unassisted and maneuver packages of varying sizes.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physically demanding role.
- Familiarity with scanning technology and inventory management systems.
