Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and medical histories, for patients presenting with urgent care needs.
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of acute medical conditions and minor injuries.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests such as X-rays, EKGs, and laboratory work.
  • Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies according to established protocols and state regulations.
  • Develop and implement individualized patient care plans, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventative health measures.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough electronic medical records.
  • Perform minor procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage.

Required Skills

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Massachusetts.
  • Current DEA registration.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive clinical assessments and rapid decision-making in an urgent care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree.
  • Prior experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or primary care.
  • PALS certification.
  • Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, Mandarin).
