Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and creative Weekend Content Editor with a keen eye for detail and a passion for digital storytelling, specifically focusing on blog posts and video content. This part-time role is crucial for maintaining the quality and consistency of our digital content during weekend hours. You will be responsible for editing, proofreading, and optimizing a variety of content formats to ensure they align with our brand guidelines, editorial calendar, and SEO best practices. The ideal candidate will have strong writing and editing skills, a basic understanding of video production workflows, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Edit and proofread blog posts, articles, and video scripts for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand voice, editorial guidelines, and SEO best practices.
  • Review video content (e.g., short-form clips, explainers) for accuracy, flow, and visual consistency, coordinating with video production teams as needed.
  • Verify factual accuracy and proper citation of sources.
  • Optimize content for readability and engagement across various digital platforms.
  • Manage and update content within our Content Management System (CMS).
  • Collaborate with content strategists and creators to provide constructive feedback.
  • Monitor content performance metrics and suggest improvements.
  • Ensure all deadlines for weekend content publication are met.

Required Skills

  • Excellent command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Proven experience in content editing, copyediting, or proofreading for digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with SEO principles and content optimization techniques.
  • Basic understanding of video content production and editing workflows.
  • Proficiency with Content Management Systems (CMS), such as WordPress.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent editorial standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a content editing role, preferably within a marketing agency or digital media company.
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana, Trello).
  • A portfolio showcasing edited written and/or video content.
