Job Description
Join our dynamic team for an exciting summer as a Dive Boat Helper! This seasonal, full-time role offers a unique opportunity to be at the heart of marine adventures, providing essential support for dive operations and ensuring a memorable experience for all participants. You will play a crucial role in the smooth running of our dive boat, assisting divers, maintaining equipment, and fostering a positive and social atmosphere on board. Ideal for individuals passionate about the ocean, keen to learn, and eager to interact with a diverse group of people from all walks of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist divers with equipment preparation, donning, and doffing, both on the boat and in the water.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers and divers, following all company and maritime protocols.
- Help with the loading, unloading, and organization of dive gear and supplies.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the dive boat and all associated equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service, engaging with divers and passengers to enhance their experience.
- Assist the Captain and Divemasters with pre-departure checks and post-trip procedures.
- Learn and assist with basic boat maintenance tasks as required.
- Act as a friendly and approachable point of contact for guests, facilitating a fun and interactive environment.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and outgoing personality.
- Strong swimming ability and comfort in the water.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively in a team.
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing conditions.
- Good physical fitness, capable of lifting and moving dive equipment.
- A genuine passion for marine environments and outdoor activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service role, especially in hospitality or tourism.
- Basic knowledge of marine safety procedures.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience working on boats or in a marine setting.
