Job Description
Join our dynamic team this summer as a Festival Steward! We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to help us create a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience for attendees at various outdoor festivals and events hosted at or associated with The International Centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who love being outdoors, enjoy a lively atmosphere, and want to be part of the vibrant summer event scene in Mississauga.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clear and friendly directions to festival-goers regarding stages, amenities, and exits.
- Monitor designated areas to ensure safety and adherence to festival rules and regulations.
- Assist with crowd management and flow, particularly during peak times and ingress/egress.
- Respond to attendee inquiries and provide accurate information about the festival schedule and facilities.
- Report any incidents, emergencies, or suspicious activities to appropriate management or security personnel.
- Help maintain cleanliness and order within festival grounds.
- Collaborate with other team members, security, and event staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Assist with entry/exit procedures, including ticket scanning and bag checks if required.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in event staffing, customer service, or hospitality.
- Basic first aid certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with The International Centre or large event venues.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays during the summer season.
