Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented student looking for a flexible, remote opportunity to earn money from home? Rev.com is seeking motivated Student Transcriptionists to convert audio and video recordings into accurate text transcripts. This is a perfect role for individuals with excellent listening skills, fast and accurate typing abilities, and a strong command of the English language. Work on your own schedule and contribute to making information more accessible.
Key Responsibilities
- Listen to audio and video recordings carefully and accurately transcribe spoken content.
- Apply correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Identify and tag different speakers in the audio.
- Review and edit your own transcripts for clarity and precision.
- Adhere to company-specific style guides and deadlines.
- Manage your workload and complete assignments independently.
Required Skills
- High level of proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Excellent listening skills and attention to detail.
- Fast and accurate typing speed (minimum 60 WPM).
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliable internet connection and a personal computer with appropriate software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with transcription software or services.
- Familiarity with various accents and dialects.
- Experience in specific subject matters (e.g., medical, legal, academic).
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program.
