Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and robust individuals to join our team as Abattoir / Slaughterhouse Cleaners, specializing in extreme washdown. This role is crucial for maintaining the stringent hygiene standards required in a food production environment. You will be responsible for the thorough cleaning and sanitization of our abattoir and processing areas, ensuring all equipment and surfaces meet strict regulatory and company standards. This is a physically demanding role in a fast-paced environment, requiring a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Due to the nature of the work, premium pay is offered.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform deep cleaning and sanitization of abattoir and slaughterhouse facilities, including processing lines, machinery, walls, and floors.
- Operate high-pressure washdown equipment, foam applicators, and other specialized cleaning tools safely and effectively.
- Ensure all cleaning procedures comply with company health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and HACCP principles.
- Handle and apply cleaning chemicals and disinfectants according to safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
- Regularly inspect work areas for cleanliness and address any deficiencies promptly.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule cleaning operations to minimize disruption to production.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere to strict personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements at all times.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning, particularly within a food processing, abattoir, or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of food hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP) or relevant certifications.
- Experience with high-pressure cleaning equipment.
