Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Online Graphic Designer to mentor and guide 16-year-old teens through a comprehensive portfolio-building program. This unique part-time, remote role focuses on fostering creativity, teaching fundamental and advanced graphic design principles, and helping young designers create compelling portfolios ready for college applications or early career opportunities. You will be instrumental in shaping the next generation of creative talent, providing personalized feedback, and curating engaging project briefs that challenge and inspire. This is a 100% remote position.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging online graphic design lessons tailored for 16-year-old teens.
- Provide constructive, personalized feedback on student design projects to facilitate growth and skill development.
- Guide students through the entire design process, from concept ideation to final execution.
- Teach essential graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Educate students on design theory, typography, color theory, layout, and branding principles.
- Assist students in curating and refining their design projects into a professional portfolio.
- Foster a supportive, creative, and collaborative online learning environment.
- Stay current with design trends and tools to ensure the curriculum remains relevant and cutting-edge.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of graphic design principles, including typography, color theory, and layout.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to teach, mentor, or guide young individuals.
- High level of patience, empathy, and adaptability.
- Reliable internet connection and experience with online collaboration tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with youth programs or educational initiatives.
