Job Description

Join the dynamic team at Stoke City Football Club as an Event Steward! We are looking for enthusiastic, vigilant, and customer-focused individuals to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all attendees during match days and concert events at the bet365 Stadium. This casual role offers flexible hours, making it perfect for those looking for supplementary income or to gain valuable experience in a world-class events environment. You will be a vital part of our operations, providing essential support and maintaining a friendly, secure atmosphere for everyone.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct crowds, ensuring safe movement and adherence to venue policies.
  • Monitor designated areas for potential hazards, security breaches, or anti-social behaviour.
  • Provide excellent customer service, assisting visitors with directions, information, and queries.
  • Respond effectively to incidents, escalating issues to supervisors and emergency services when necessary.
  • Conduct bag searches and ticket checks as required to maintain venue security.
  • Assist with the evacuation of the stadium in emergency situations, following established procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with other stewards, security personnel, and event staff.

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a friendly demeanour.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
  • Vigilant and observant, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Flexible availability for evening and weekend shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a stewarding, security, or customer service role.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Spectator Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Current First Aid certificate.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures in a public venue setting.
