Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and assist Senior Public Health Inspectors in their daily duties.
- Learn and apply public health regulations, acts, and guidelines.
- Participate in inspections of various facilities including restaurants, daycares, pools, and water systems.
- Conduct environmental health assessments under supervision.
- Assist in investigating public health complaints and outbreaks.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of observations and actions.
- Engage in community outreach and educational activities related to public health.
- Complete all required training and obtain necessary certifications funded by the SHA.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in public health and environmental science.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new information and environments.
- Basic computer proficiency (MS Office Suite).
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Eligibility to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., science, health sciences, environmental studies).
- Prior volunteer or work experience in a health-related or community service setting.
- Familiarity with local public health issues in Saskatchewan.
