Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and meticulous Quality Assurance Chemist to join our dynamic team in the Food & Beverage Industry. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety for our products, from raw materials to finished goods. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in analytical chemistry, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for maintaining rigorous quality control processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is an on-site position offering top rates for experienced professionals dedicated to excellence in food quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine chemical and physical analysis on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using various analytical instruments and wet chemistry techniques.
  • Ensure all testing procedures adhere to established quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA).
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Document all test results accurately and completely, maintaining detailed records and laboratory notebooks.
  • Investigate out-of-specification results, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist in the development and validation of new testing methods and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with production, R&D, and other departments to address quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Monitor environmental conditions within the production facility and conduct hygiene checks as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Chemist in the food & beverage or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, pH meters, moisture analyzers, and titrators.
  • Strong understanding of GMP, GLP, HACCP, and other relevant food safety regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to conduct root cause analysis.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data recording and analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry or Food Science.
  • Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System).
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, SQF).
  • Familiarity with sensory evaluation methods for food products.
