Job Description
We are seeking a warm, reliable, and experienced After School Nanny to join a lovely family in a local suburb of Torquay. This part-time role primarily involves school collection and providing engaging care for children during after-school hours. The ideal candidate will be organised, punctual, and passionate about child development, capable of fostering a safe, stimulating, and fun environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely collect children from local school and escort them home.
- Prepare healthy snacks and light meals.
- Assist with homework and school projects.
- Organise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors.
- Manage children's after-school schedules, including playdates and extracurricular activities.
- Ensure a safe and tidy environment for the children.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding children's progress and daily activities.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare, particularly with primary school-aged children.
- Valid UK driving license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Up-to-date Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organisational and time management abilities.
- A genuine love for working with children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE, NVQ).
- Previous experience as an after-school nanny.
- Knowledge of local schools and activities in the Torquay area.
- Ability to support children with specific learning needs (if applicable).
