Key Responsibilities
- Complete a comprehensive, company-sponsored training program to become a certified Smart Meter Installer.
- Safely install, test, and maintain smart meters at residential and commercial properties under direct supervision.
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory guidelines during installations.
- Utilize handheld devices and other tools to accurately record installation data and meter readings.
- Provide excellent customer service, answering basic questions and explaining the benefits of smart meters.
- Troubleshoot minor installation issues and report complex problems to senior technicians.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good working order.
- Work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with using hand and power tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to strict safety guidelines.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hands-on or technical role (e.g., construction, electrical, plumbing).
- Understanding of basic electrical principles.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
