Job Description
Ancestry.com is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Records Management Assistant with a strong interest in AI and digital data to join our team in Provo, Utah. In this crucial role, you will support the efficient organization, preservation, and accessibility of our extensive digital record collections, with a particular focus on leveraging AI tools and methodologies to enhance data quality and discoverability. You will work with various digital assets, ensuring compliance with data governance policies, and contributing to projects that digitize and process historical documents for our global user base. This position is ideal for an individual eager to grow their career in digital asset management, data science support, and information technology within a historical data context.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the day-to-day management of digital records, including classification, indexing, and storage.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of digital archiving systems and databases.
- Work with AI-driven tools for data extraction, normalization, and quality control on digitized records.
- Perform quality assurance checks on digital records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Respond to internal requests for digital record retrieval and information.
- Assist in developing and documenting records management procedures and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and content, on digital data projects.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and internal data governance policies.
- Contribute to projects focused on the digitization and enhancement of historical documents.
Required Skills
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- Familiarity with digital data management principles and database systems.
- Basic understanding of AI concepts, machine learning, or data processing technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Library Science, Information Management, Data Science, or a related field.
- Experience with records management software or digital asset management (DAM) systems.
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Prior experience in a data entry, archival, or administrative support role.
- Demonstrated interest in genealogy, history, or large-scale data projects.
