Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Shopify Liquid Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for custom theme development, implementing complex front-end features, and optimizing Shopify stores for performance and scalability. You will work closely with designers and project managers to translate mockups and requirements into functional and visually appealing Shopify themes. This is a remote position, and you will have the flexibility to work from your preferred location, provided you are based in Summerside, Prince Edward Island.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Implement responsive and pixel-perfect designs from Figma/Sketch mockups.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers and back-end developers to integrate new features and functionalities.
- Optimize Shopify store performance for speed, SEO, and user experience.
- Troubleshoot and resolve front-end issues and bugs across various browsers and devices.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility and adherence to web standards.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify platform updates, Liquid features, and web development best practices.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain high-quality code standards.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of experience with Shopify theme development and Liquid templating language.
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (SCSS), and JavaScript (ES6+).
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
- Experience with Git version control.
- Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex front-end issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Shopify APIs (Storefront API, Admin API).
- Familiarity with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js).
- Experience with front-end build tools (Webpack, Gulp).
- Knowledge of SEO best practices for e-commerce.
- Experience working in an agile development environment.
