Job Description

Are you a proactive, hands-on individual with a passion for the marine environment and an ‘outdoorsy’ spirit? MarineMax in Long Beach is seeking a dedicated Marina Support Hand to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is perfect for someone eager to learn the ropes of marina operations and contribute to a smooth and enjoyable experience for our boating clientele. You will be instrumental in the day-to-day upkeep and operational support of our marina, ensuring everything runs efficiently and safely. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional customer service in a beautiful coastal setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with docking and undocking of vessels, providing guidance and support to boat owners.
  • Perform general marina maintenance, including cleaning docks, common areas, and facilities.
  • Monitor fuel docks, assist with fueling boats, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Operate various marina equipment safely, such as golf carts, pressure washers, and small utility vehicles.
  • Support inventory management of marina supplies and equipment.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests, providing helpful and courteous service.
  • Assist with the upkeep and presentation of vessels in our showroom and on our docks.
  • Participate in safety drills and maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Help with basic repairs and maintenance tasks around the marina as needed.

Required Skills

  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a marine environment or with boating.
  • Knowledge of basic boat handling and safety.
  • Customer service experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
