Job Description

Promega Corporation is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant (Chemistry) to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare chemical reagents, solutions, and media following established protocols.
- Assist scientists and senior lab personnel with experimental setup and execution.
- Perform routine laboratory tasks, including glassware washing, sterilization, and waste disposal.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including experimental data and equipment logs.
- Ensure the laboratory is clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.
- Monitor inventory of lab supplies and assist with ordering new materials.
- Operate and maintain basic laboratory equipment, such as pH meters, balances, and centrifuges.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and quality control standards.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong interest in chemistry or life sciences.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently or as part of a team.
- Basic computer proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to learn new techniques and procedures.
- Ability to perform light physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Previous experience in an academic or school laboratory setting (e.g., lab coursework).
- Basic understanding of laboratory safety practices.
