Job Description

As a Rapid Response Registered Nurse in our Urgent Care Environment, you will play a crucial role in providing immediate, high-quality patient care during critical situations. This position demands quick assessment, decisive action, and expert clinical skills to stabilize patients and facilitate appropriate next steps. You will work within a dynamic team to manage diverse cases, from acute injuries and illnesses to sudden medical emergencies, ensuring optimal outcomes in a fast-paced setting. We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and resilient RN ready to make an immediate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond rapidly to urgent medical situations and patient deterioration within the urgent care setting.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examination, and medical history.
  • Initiate and manage emergency interventions, including medication administration, IV therapy, wound care, and basic life support.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members.
  • Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic health records.
  • Educate patients and families on their conditions, treatment plans, and self-care instructions.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.

Required Skills

  • Current RN license in Wisconsin
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an urgent care, emergency department, or critical care setting
  • Proficiency in rapid patient assessment and emergency intervention
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Competency in electronic health record (EHR) systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • PALS certification
  • BSN degree
  • Experience with specific urgent care protocols and procedures
  • Demonstrated leadership or charge nurse experience
