Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Guest Service Porter to join The Alverton Hotel team. This is an immediate opening for an individual who is passionate about delivering outstanding service and ensuring our guests have a seamless and enjoyable stay. As a Guest Service Porter, you will be the first and last point of contact for many guests, playing a crucial role in shaping their impression of our hotel. You will assist with luggage, parking, guest inquiries, and general hotel support, contributing to our reputation for impeccable service. This role comes with a performance bonus, rewarding your commitment to excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly welcome guests upon arrival and assist with luggage transportation to and from their rooms.
- Provide valet parking services and manage the car park efficiently, assisting guests with directions and information.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, including arranging taxis, providing local recommendations, and delivering items to rooms.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel entrance, lobby, and public areas.
- Assist other departments (e.g., Housekeeping, Front Desk) as needed to ensure smooth hotel operations.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail and packages for guests and hotel operations.
- Ensure security protocols are followed and report any suspicious activities.
- Proactively anticipate guest needs and offer assistance with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a strong commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift and carry luggage.
- Valid UK driving license and a clean driving record for valet parking duties.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role.
- Familiarity with the Truro area and local attractions.
- First Aid certification.
