Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic medical center team. This role offers the flexibility of 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts, allowing you to achieve a better work-life balance while providing exceptional patient care. As an RN at Summa Health, you will be an integral part of our patient-centered approach, utilizing your clinical expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal outcomes, promote patient safety, and uphold the highest standards of nursing practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, medication administration, wound care, and other nursing interventions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical orders.
- Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and responses to treatments.
- Educate patients and their families about health conditions, medications, and self-care practices.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Respond to medical emergencies and administer life-saving measures as necessary.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Current valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Proficient clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (if applicable to unit).
- Specialty certification (e.g., Medical-Surgical, Critical Care).
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
