Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Logistics Yard Trash Collector for outdoor cleanup at our Bradford facility. This essential role ensures the cleanliness, safety, and organization of our logistics yard and surrounding outdoor areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for manual collection and disposal of various types of waste, contributing to a clean and hazard-free working environment. This is an on-site position requiring consistent outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually collect and dispose of trash, debris, and waste materials from all outdoor areas of the logistics yard, including parking lots, loading docks, and perimeter fences.
- Operate basic cleaning equipment such as brooms, shovels, and hand trucks as needed.
- Sort waste into appropriate recycling or disposal containers according to company and local regulations.
- Identify and report any safety hazards, spills, or unusual findings in the yard area to supervision.
- Ensure proper maintenance and storage of cleaning tools and equipment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with other general labor tasks as required to maintain the facility's appearance and functionality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic understanding of waste sorting and disposal practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in outdoor labor, landscaping, or waste management is an asset.
- Familiarity with industrial yard environments.
- Valid driver's license (G class) with a clean driving record.
- WHMIS certification (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
