Job Description
Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for visual presentation and retail excellence? Nordstrom is seeking a Junior Retail Merchandiser to join our dynamic team in Seattle. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for executing visual merchandising directives, maintaining product displays, and ensuring brand standards are upheld across various Nordstrom locations within the Seattle area. This position requires regular travel to local stores, playing a crucial part in creating an inspiring shopping environment for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute visual merchandising strategies and directives provided by the merchandising team.
- Ensure all product displays, signage, and promotional materials are current, attractive, and adhere to Nordstrom brand standards.
- Monitor inventory levels on sales floors and communicate replenishment needs to store teams.
- Organize and maintain back stock areas to ensure efficient product flow.
- Provide constructive feedback to store management and merchandising leadership on product presentation and sales trends.
- Travel regularly and efficiently to assigned Nordstrom stores within the Seattle metropolitan area.
- Assist with new store openings, remodels, and special in-store events as needed.
- Collaborate with store staff to maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing sales floor.
Required Skills
- Strong eye for visual aesthetics and meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret and execute complex merchandising guidelines.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation.
- Basic understanding of retail operations and sales floor dynamics.
- Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6-12 months) in retail, visual merchandising, or a related customer-facing role.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or a related field.
- Familiarity with Nordstrom's brand aesthetics and product categories.
