Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and physically fit Scrap Wood & Drywall Remover to join our demolition team in Folkestone. This role is crucial to the initial stages of demolition preparation and site clearance, involving manual labor, heavy lifting, and adherence to strict safety protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Manually remove and clear scrap wood, drywall, plasterboard, and other debris from demolition sites.
  • Assist with the initial dismantling of non-structural elements.
  • Load materials into skips and waste containers efficiently and safely.
  • Operate basic hand tools and potentially some power tools under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons as required.
  • Report any hazards or incidents to the site supervisor immediately.
  • Follow all site-specific safety instructions and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Required Skills

  • Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and demanding manual labour.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction and demolition environment.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Excellent understanding and commitment to site safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively within a team.
  • Basic understanding of English for communication and safety briefings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction or demolition environment.
  • CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
  • Experience with basic hand tools and power tools (e.g., pry bars, hammers, drills).
  • Full UK driving license.
