Job Description
Join FedEx as a Shuttle Driver for our short-haul operations in North Las Vegas. This role involves transporting goods and packages between local FedEx facilities and distribution centers. You will be operating commercial vehicles on a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, ensuring timely and safe delivery. We are looking for reliable and dedicated individuals who prioritize safety and efficiency. This is a crucial role in our logistics network, contributing directly to the seamless flow of goods that our customers depend on.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, primarily shuttle trucks, for short-haul routes.
- Transport goods and packages between designated FedEx facilities in North Las Vegas and surrounding areas.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal traffic laws and regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles and equipment, reporting any defects or issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle logs, and any incidents.
- Ensure timely departure and arrival at all scheduled destinations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams regarding route status or delays.
- Handle cargo with care, ensuring secure loading and unloading procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen
- Strong understanding of federal and state transportation regulations
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a shuttle driving or short-haul transportation role
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- Familiarity with the North Las Vegas and surrounding metropolitan area routes
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures
