Job Description
Swift Transportation is seeking dedicated and reliable Intermodal Truck Drivers for local port work in the North Las Vegas area. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to be home every night, providing excellent work-life balance for those who prefer local routes. As an Intermodal Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting containers to and from rail yards, distribution centers, and customer locations. Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle
- Transport intermodal containers to and from designated rail yards and customer locations within the local area
- Manage container pick-ups and drop-offs efficiently and on schedule
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all necessary paperwork, including logs, trip reports, and bills of lading
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members
Required Skills
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical
- Familiarity with local Las Vegas metro area roads and traffic patterns
- Strong commitment to safety and professional conduct
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with intermodal drayage operations
- Knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELDs)
- High school diploma or GED
