Job Description
Are you passionate about quality, food safety, and operational excellence? Gate Gourmet is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Airline Catering Evaluator to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for meticulously assessing and ensuring the highest standards of food preparation, hygiene, presentation, and delivery processes for airline catering services. This position is based at an airport location in Provo, ensuring you are at the heart of our operations. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough evaluations of catering operations, including food production, packing, loading, and delivery processes.
- Inspect food quality, freshness, portion control, and adherence to menu specifications.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all food safety (HACCP), hygiene, and sanitation regulations and company policies.
- Assess presentation standards of meals and amenities, ensuring alignment with airline client expectations.
- Identify areas for improvement in operational efficiency, quality control, and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare detailed evaluation reports, documenting findings, non-conformances, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with production, logistics, and client service teams to implement corrective measures and best practices.
- Participate in client audits and inspections, representing Gate Gourmet's commitment to quality.
- Stay updated on industry trends, food safety standards, and airline catering requirements.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in quality control, food safety, or operations within the food service or hospitality industry.
- Strong understanding of HACCP principles and other food safety regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for quality and presentation.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and collaboration.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per airport operational needs.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally if required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Hospitality Management, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Certification in food safety (e.g., ServSafe Manager, HACCP certification).
- Experience specifically within airline catering or a high-volume, regulated food production environment.
- Knowledge of airline operational procedures and logistics.
- Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
