Job Description
Swissport is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as an Airplane Cabin Trash Collector at St. John’s International Airport. This critical role ensures the cleanliness and hygiene of aircraft cabins between flights, contributing directly to passenger comfort and satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for systematically collecting and disposing of all waste materials from aircraft interiors, adhering to strict airport security protocols and environmental guidelines. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced airport environment. Full airport security clearance is a mandatory requirement for this role, and successful candidates will undergo a thorough background check.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently collect and remove all trash, waste, and discarded items from aircraft cabins, galleys, and lavatories.
- Sort and separate recyclable materials from general waste as per company and airport environmental policies.
- Ensure proper disposal of all waste in designated containers and areas.
- Follow all airport security procedures, including maintaining sterile area access and secure handling of waste.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and responsibly.
- Report any unusual findings, damages, or security concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Work effectively as part of a team to meet tight turnaround schedules.
Required Skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain full airport security clearance (RAIC or equivalent).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to lift and carry moderate weights, stand, bend, and walk for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

- Previous experience in a cleaning, waste management, or airport operations role.
- Familiarity with airport environments and security protocols.
- Valid driver's license (for potential future roles or equipment operation).
