Job Description

High Desert Events & Productions is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Backstage Runner to join our dynamic team. This is a fast-paced, high-energy role perfect for someone who thrives in a bustling environment and is eager to support the intricate operations behind every successful show. As a Backstage Runner, you will be an integral part of our production crew, ensuring that artists, technical teams, and management have everything they need to deliver exceptional performances. No two days are the same, and your ability to think on your feet, anticipate needs, and execute tasks with precision will be key to your success. Key Responsibilities
- Execute urgent errands and deliveries for artists, crew, and production management, both on-site and off-site.
- Maintain clear and constant communication with various departments, including stage management, lighting, sound, and talent.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of backstage areas, dressing rooms, and production offices.
- Manage and organize backstage supplies, ensuring availability of necessary items.
- Provide general assistance to performers and crew, addressing immediate needs and requests.
- Support the production team with administrative tasks and logistical coordination as required.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and venue policies.
- Operate company vehicles for transportation of equipment or personnel as needed (valid driver's license required).
Required Skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and a can-do attitude.
- High level of discretion and professionalism when interacting with artists and sensitive information.
- Physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Availability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Valid California Driver's License and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in live events, theatre, or a fast-paced service industry.
- Basic knowledge of the music or theatre production process.
- Familiarity with the Victorville and High Desert area.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
