Job Description
Are you a cycling enthusiast with a knack for mechanics and a passion for perfecting the ride? Trek Bicycle in The Woodlands, TX, is looking for a dedicated and skilled Bicycle Maintenance & Tuning Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for someone who loves bicycles, understands their intricate workings, and enjoys ensuring every customer’s bike performs at its peak. You will be responsible for a wide range of repair, maintenance, and tuning tasks, providing top-tier service to fellow riders in our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive bicycle inspections, diagnostics, and evaluations.
- Execute routine maintenance tasks, including brake adjustments, gear indexing, chain lubrication, and tire repair.
- Conduct advanced tuning services, such as wheel truing, suspension tuning, and hydraulic brake bleeding.
- Assemble new bicycles and perform pre-delivery inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to customers regarding bicycle care, upgrades, and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment.
- Manage parts inventory, ordering, and receiving for the service department.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest bicycle technology, tools, and repair techniques.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in bicycle assembly, maintenance, and repair (personal or professional).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with various bicycle components, systems (road, mountain, e-bikes), and brands.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Physical ability to lift bicycles and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional bicycle mechanic certification (e.g., Barnett Bicycle Institute, UBI).
- Experience with e-bike diagnostics and repair.
- Sales floor experience in a retail cycling environment.
- A deep understanding of current cycling trends and technologies.
- Previous experience using shop management software.
