Job Description

Right at Home Akron is seeking caring individuals to join our team as Caregivers in the Highland Square area and surrounding local neighborhoods. Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Assist with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) including light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, and running errands.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities like reading, games, and conversation.
- Assist with safe transfers and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Observe and report any changes in the client's condition or behavior to the supervisory staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized client environment.
- Document care provided accurately and timely.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow care plans and instructions meticulously.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation with current auto insurance.
- Basic understanding of health and safety protocols.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a caregiver, CNA, HHA, or personal care attendant (PCP).
- High school diploma or GED.
- CPR/First Aid certification.
- Experience with clients with Alzheimer's/Dementia or other chronic conditions.
