Job Description

Join the professional team at CVS Health as a Clinical Pharmacy Assistant in Kaimuki, Honolulu, HI. In this vital role, you will work directly alongside our pharmacists, providing crucial support in daily pharmacy operations. This position is perfect for an organized and detail-oriented individual eager to contribute to patient care in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment. You will assist with prescription processing, manage inventory, handle patient inquiries, and ensure the smooth running of our pharmacy services, all while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications, adhering to all state and federal regulations.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as maintaining patient records, processing insurance claims, and managing pharmacy inventory.
  • Answer incoming calls, address patient questions regarding medication availability or prescription status, and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the pharmacy.
  • Process patient transactions accurately at the point of sale.
  • Stock shelves and organize prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA guidelines for patient privacy.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Current Hawaii Pharmacy Technician registration or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1+ years) in a retail or clinical pharmacy setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Certification from a nationally recognized pharmacy technician program (e.g., PTCB).
