Job Description
Are you passionate about health and wellness and eager to build a rewarding career in therapeutic massage? Massage Addict in Abbotsford is seeking a dedicated Deep Tissue Apprentice to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is designed for individuals with a strong desire to learn and excel in deep tissue massage techniques. You will receive comprehensive training and mentorship from experienced Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs), developing the essential skills and knowledge required to become a highly proficient deep tissue specialist. This is a physically demanding role that offers significant earning potential upon successful completion of your apprenticeship and qualification. We are looking for motivated individuals ready to commit to a hands-on learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in all training sessions and mentorship programs focusing on deep tissue massage techniques, anatomy, physiology, and client care protocols.
- Observe and assist experienced RMTs during client treatments, learning proper body mechanics, draping, and communication methods.
- Practice and refine deep tissue techniques under supervision, including palpation, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, and postural assessment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment environment.
- Assist with client intake and assessment processes, documenting client information accurately.
- Adhere to all clinic policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines.
- Develop strong client communication skills to understand needs and provide effective treatment recommendations.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated strong interest and passion for therapeutic massage and wellness.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new techniques quickly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Physical stamina and dexterity required for a hands-on, active role.
- Empathy and a client-focused attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer service or healthcare support role.
- Basic understanding of human anatomy and physiology.
- Enrollment or intention to enroll in a recognized massage therapy program.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
