Job Description
Join UPS as an Export Warehouse Packer and become an essential part of our global logistics network. You will be responsible for carefully and efficiently preparing packages for international shipment, ensuring all items meet stringent international packing standards, customs regulations, and client specifications. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against documentation for export orders.
- Select appropriate packing materials and methods based on item fragility, size, weight, and destination country regulations.
- Pack goods securely and efficiently into cartons, crates, or other containers, ensuring proper cushioning and stability.
- Accurately label packages with shipping information, handling instructions, and customs declarations.
- Prepare and attach all necessary export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Perform quality checks on packed items to ensure compliance with international shipping standards and company policies.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and banding machines safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize packing processes and meet daily targets.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 lbs (with assistance when needed).
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and label generation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in packing and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of basic safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse operations, particularly packing or shipping.
- Familiarity with international shipping regulations and customs procedures.
- Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
