Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and reliable Bulk Goods Handlers to join our Kansas City team. This is a full-time position offering ongoing work and a stable income within a critical part of our operations. As a Bulk Goods Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, loading, and unloading of large and heavy freight items. This role is crucial for maintaining the flow of goods through our distribution centers and ensuring timely delivery to our customers. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload bulk freight items from trucks, trailers, and containers using appropriate equipment or manual methods.
- Sort and stage bulk goods in designated areas, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment as needed (certification preferred, training may be provided).
- Inspect freight for damage and report any discrepancies or issues immediately.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
- Scan and track packages accurately using handheld devices or computer systems.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational targets.
- Perform general warehouse duties as required, including cleanup and organization.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy loads (up to 75 lbs) repeatedly and for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physical labor role.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Experience with scanning and tracking systems.
