Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and friendly Guest Service Assistant (Porter) to join our dynamic team at Mercure Mansfield. This essential role is the face of our hotel, responsible for creating a positive first and last impression for our guests. You will assist guests with luggage, provide information, and ensure the smooth flow of arrivals and departures, contributing significantly to a memorable stay. Full uniform will be provided, ensuring you look and feel part of our professional team from day one.

Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure, offering assistance with luggage.
  • Safely and efficiently transport guest luggage to and from rooms and vehicles.
  • Assist guests with parking and provide valet services when required.
  • Provide guests with accurate information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and directions.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel lobby, entrance, and luggage storage areas.
  • Handle guest inquiries and requests promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
  • Support front desk operations as needed, including answering phones and directing calls.
  • Ensure all guest areas are presentable and welcoming at all times.
  • Adhere to all hotel safety and security procedures.
  • Collaborate effectively with other hotel departments to ensure seamless guest service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role.
  • Knowledge of the local Mansfield area and its attractions.
  • A valid UK driving license is a plus.
