Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Hotel Porter to join our friendly team at Hilton Garden Inn Stoke-on-Trent. This is an essential role in ensuring our guests have a seamless and pleasant stay from the moment they arrive. As a Hotel Porter, you will be the first point of contact, providing assistance with luggage, directing guests, and ensuring the smooth operation of our lobby and public areas. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and assist with luggage handling, ensuring safe and efficient delivery to their rooms.
- Provide accurate information and directions regarding hotel facilities, local attractions, and transportation.
- Assist guests with inquiries and special requests, escalating issues to relevant departments when necessary.
- Maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the hotel lobby, entrance, and other public areas.
- Support the front desk and other hotel departments with various tasks as required, including mail and package delivery.
- Be knowledgeable about hotel services, promotions, and daily events.
- Handle guest complaints or concerns professionally and efficiently, aiming for immediate resolution.
- Ensure security protocols are followed and report any suspicious activities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, can-do attitude with a strong guest-focused approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle and transport luggage, which may include heavy items.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, or customer service role.
- Familiarity with the Stoke-on-Trent area and local amenities.
- First Aid certification (advantageous but not essential).
