Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our private infusion clinic in Santa Maria. This role offers the unique benefit of flexible day shifts, allowing for a better work-life balance while providing specialized care to patients requiring intravenous therapies. As an Infusion Nurse, you will be a vital part of a team dedicated to delivering safe and effective care, monitoring patient responses, and educating patients and families on treatment plans. Key Responsibilities
- Administer intravenous medications and fluids to patients in a private clinic setting, adhering to all safety protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patients during infusions for adverse reactions, changes in condition, and treatment effectiveness, and intervene appropriately.
- Assess patient health status, including medical history, current symptoms, and vital signs, prior to and during infusions.
- Educate patients and their families on infusion procedures, potential side effects, self-care at home, and medication adherence.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all patient assessments, interventions, medication administration, and responses.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members to optimize patient care plans.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of infusion equipment and supplies.
- Adhere to all regulatory standards, policies, and procedures of the clinic and nursing profession.
- Provide compassionate and empathetic support to patients throughout their treatment journey.
Required Skills
- Active and unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IV therapy, medical-surgical, oncology, or critical care nursing
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture and central line management
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Registered Nurse Infusion (CRNI) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems specific to infusion therapy
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
