Job Description
Are you an aspiring supply chain professional looking to gain hands-on experience with a world-renowned consumer goods company? Kellogg’s is seeking a highly motivated and analytical Inventory Planning & Control Intern to join our dynamic Supply Chain team in Salford Quays. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the efficient flow of goods, optimize inventory levels, and support critical planning processes for our iconic brands. You will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining valuable insights into inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics within a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. This is an on-site role, providing an immersive experience in our operational hub.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing inventory levels across various product categories.
- Support the creation and maintenance of inventory reports and dashboards.
- Collaborate with planning and logistics teams to optimize stock levels and minimize obsolescence.
- Participate in demand forecasting activities and supply chain planning meetings.
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, potential risks, and opportunities for improvement in inventory management.
- Help implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Contribute to projects aimed at enhancing supply chain processes and systems.
- Learn and apply fundamental principles of inventory control and supply chain management.
Required Skills
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated interest in supply chain and operations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or project experience in a supply chain, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management software or ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
- Knowledge of statistical analysis concepts.
