Job Description

Are you passionate about animals and eager to start a rewarding career in animal care? The RSPCA is looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Kennel Hand Trainee at our Guildford animal centre. This entry-level position is perfect for those with no prior professional experience, offering comprehensive on-the-job training and a chance to make a real difference. You will learn all aspects of animal husbandry, welfare, and care, contributing directly to the well-being of the animals in our care. Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the daily cleaning and maintenance of kennels and animal enclosures to maintain high hygiene standards.
  • Providing food and water to animals according to their specific dietary requirements and schedules.
  • Monitoring the health and behaviour of animals, reporting any concerns to senior staff.
  • Assisting with animal exercise, enrichment, and socialisation activities.
  • Learning and following animal handling procedures safely and compassionately.
  • Supporting veterinary care by preparing animals for examinations or treatments as directed.
  • Maintaining records of animal care, feeding, and medical observations.
  • Participating in training programs and workshops to develop animal care skills.

  • Full UK driving license.
