Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Midwives to join our growing team in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This is an incredible opportunity for internationally trained midwives looking to practice in the United States, as we offer comprehensive visa sponsorship and accommodation support to ensure a smooth transition. As a Midwife at Parkview Health, you will provide holistic, evidence-based care to women throughout their pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum periods. You will play a crucial role in empowering women to have positive birthing experiences, fostering a supportive environment for both mothers and newborns. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about women’s health and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care within a collaborative healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive antenatal care, including physical examinations, health assessments, and education.
  • Manage labor and delivery, monitoring the progress of labor and providing support to birthing mothers.
  • Perform newborn assessments and provide immediate postpartum care for both mother and baby.
  • Offer lactation support and education to new mothers.
  • Educate women and their families on reproductive health, family planning, and newborn care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure integrated care.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Current, unrestricted Registered Midwife license or eligibility for licensure in Indiana.
  • Bachelor's degree in Midwifery or Nursing with a postgraduate qualification in Midwifery.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Experience in a similar role within a hospital or birthing center setting.
  • Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
