Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Music Copyright Specialist to join our Intellectual Property team in San Antonio. This role is crucial for managing and protecting the intellectual property rights of our diverse roster of music creators. The specialist will be responsible for overseeing copyright registrations, resolving complex rights issues, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and supporting our members through expert guidance. This stable position offers an opportunity to work at the forefront of music rights management, contributing to the fair compensation and protection of artistic works.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process music copyright registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office and international bodies.
- Research, analyze, and resolve complex copyright ownership disputes and licensing issues.
- Monitor for potential copyright infringements and assist in enforcement actions.
- Provide expert guidance to members and internal stakeholders on copyright law and policy.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive intellectual property databases and records.
- Collaborate with legal counsel on litigation support and policy development.
- Stay current with developments in intellectual property law, technology, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in intellectual property, copyright management, or music publishing.
- Strong understanding of U.S. and international copyright law.
- Proficiency in intellectual property database management and research tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Law, or a related field.
- Experience with digital rights management (DRM) technologies.

- Legal research experience, particularly in copyright litigation.
