Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Mount Stuart Trust as an Orchard Netting Installer. This vital role involves the installation, maintenance, and removal of protective netting systems across our orchards and agricultural areas. You will work outdoors in various weather conditions, ensuring our crops are protected from pests and adverse weather. This is a physically demanding role suitable for individuals who enjoy working in an agricultural setting and are committed to seasonal outdoor tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and remove orchard netting systems according to seasonal requirements.
- Operate hand tools and basic power tools safely and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with the agricultural team to ensure timely completion of netting projects.
- Perform general outdoor labour and maintenance tasks as required.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical labour outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights using ladders or elevated platforms.
- Basic understanding of agricultural practices or willingness to learn.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in agricultural netting installation or similar outdoor construction/labour roles.
- Experience operating small farm machinery or equipment.
- Full UK driving license.
