Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Packing Shed Helper to join our team at the Cardiff Bay Distribution Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where your contribution directly impacts the delivery of quality products to our customers. The role primarily involves working indoors within our packing shed, focusing on the preparation and packaging of fresh produce, ensuring consistent workflow regardless of external weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Sort, grade, and pack fresh produce according to company quality standards and specifications.
- Operate basic packing machinery and equipment safely and efficiently after training.
- Monitor product quality and report any discrepancies or issues to supervisors.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, including counting and stacking packed goods.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure daily packing targets are met.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 15kg regularly.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of English for safety instructions and communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a packing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Experience with operating pallet jacks or similar equipment (training provided if needed).
