Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-time Retail Security Officer for our Davenport location. This role is primarily focused on weekend shifts, maintaining a static post to ensure the safety and security of our guests, team members, and assets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of responsibility, excellent observational skills, and a professional demeanor. You will be a visible presence, deterring theft and maintaining order, while also providing excellent customer service when interacting with guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible presence at assigned static post during weekend operating hours.
- Monitor security cameras and surveillance equipment for suspicious activities.
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both inside and outside the store.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations.
- Deter theft and other illicit activities by maintaining a watchful and proactive stance.
- Document and report incidents, security breaches, and observations accurately and thoroughly.
- Assist guests and team members with security-related concerns and provide directions or information as needed.
- Collaborate with store management and local law enforcement when necessary.
- Adhere strictly to all company security policies and procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service while performing security duties.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 6 months of experience in security, loss prevention, or a related field.
- Ability to work weekend shifts (Saturdays and Sundays) consistently.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful situations.
- Strong ethical conduct and integrity.
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a retail security environment.
- Valid security guard license or certification (if required by state law).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Familiarity with security technology and surveillance systems.
