Job Description
Are you seeking an immediate start in the healthcare field? CVS Health is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in New Port Richey, FL. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals with a high school diploma who are eager to learn and contribute to a fast-paced pharmacy environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with prescription fulfillment tasks, including counting, pouring, and labeling medications under direct supervision.
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, organizing medications, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including pharmacy workstations and common areas.
- Process patient transactions at the cash register, handle payments, and assist with general inquiries.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing patient questions and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Answer incoming phone calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing patient records.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures related to pharmacy practice and patient privacy (HIPAA).
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
- Basic computer proficiency
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous customer service experience in any retail or service industry
- Familiarity with medical terminology (a plus, but not required)
